Tanzania and Uganda were well represented in this year's MTVMAMA2015 awards with Diamond and Chameleone respectively being among the top ten African icons that were vying for the Evolution award and Bebe Cool's Love you everyday song for video of the year, but they both lost.

Artiste of the Decade - P-Square (Nigeria)
Best Collaboration - AKA, Burna Boy, Da Les & Jr: "All Eyes On Me" (SA/Nigeria)

Best Hiphop - Cassper Nyovest (South Africa)
Best Pop and Alternative - Jeremy Loops (South Africa)
Personality of the Year - Trevor Noah (South Africa)
Video of the Year - Nafukwa- Riky Rick; Director Adriaan Louw

Best Live - Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania)
Best International - Nicki Minaj
Best Francophone - DJ Arafat (Ivory Coast)
Best Lusophone - Ary (Angola)

MTV Base Leadership Award - Saran Kaba Jones and S'Bu Mavundla.

During its two year run, the project will award approximately 100 major reporting grants and provide mentoring to support the best ideas for stories on development issues. Journalists who produce the best stories published or broadcasted in media that reach African audiences, will win a major international reporting trip.
